Photographer's Note
The London Gherkin looking more like the head of the creature from Ridley Scott's frightening and excellent film "Alien". Officially called 30 St Mary Axe it is known affectionately to Londoners as just "The Gherkin".

Hello Brian - This is a wonderful shot. I really like the dark tones which contrasted so well by the whites enhance the graphic qualities of the image. This, to my eye, would make a fantastic framed print which I would happily hang on my wall. Slick and creative and definitely an artwork. Enjoy your weekend. Rosemary

Hello Brian,
A great close-up on this relatively new London icon. Perfectly framed and making excellent use of black and white to heighten the mood. A very eerie image, beautifully realised. Have a great weekend.

Bonsoir Brian,
Cette composition de nuit, en noir et blanc, nous prιsente cet ιdifice sous un tout autre jour. La lumiθre crιe un graphisme spectaculaire. C'est superbe.

Really excellent and dark B&W take on this London highlight, Brian. The high contrast and dark lighting really does give it an otherworldly feel, and the reflective light really enhances the depth and curvature. I fear there might be a very slight tilt to the left here, but a really sharp and outstanding shot nevertheless.

Hello Brian,
How many times have we seen the Gherkin, yet never like this! This is the skill of the photographer, to see an icon and yet present it to the viewers, giving them a completely new experience. I like the shades, the lozenge patterns, the absolute proximity and, particularly, the way you have captured the sunlight on the glass.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

This is no Alien, its the Gherkin! lol
I'll never get tired of more and more photos of this building. Gotta love London's mix of Old and New.
lots of geometry going on with this one.
