Photographer's Note
Early morning sun strikes the Lloyds Building in the heart of the financial district in the City of London, England. A building with all of its insides on the outside the ducts, pipes and steelwork glows gold in the sunlight. This iconic structure was completed in 1986 and opened by Queen Elizabeth II. The building was granted Grade I listed status in 2011.

Hi Brian,
Really interesting modern architecture presented very well. The morning lights reflected on the facade look extremely attractive and made a view so interesting. Like it a lot!
Warm regards,

this is a different subject matter from your usual. you have composed this prefectly and the portrait format works really well to emphasise the height of the building. the patterns and lines are fantastic, and of course the light is wonderful producing these lovely colours. an excellent image.

Hello Brian,
Went for a job interview there not long after it opened; it is quite spectacular inside as well. Needless to say I didn't get the job:-( I like the point of view here and the repeating motifs offered by the stairwell. But, especially that lovely golden light on the metalwork. Perfect use of the vertical format to accentuate the height. Have a great weekend.

Hello Brian - The soft glint of warm sunlight reflecting of the surfaces of the building is very lovely and softens what, to me, looks like quite a slick industrial-looking piece of architecture. Quite a different style of work for you but presented with your usual attention to detail. Warm regards rosemary

Hello Brian,
This is a very well rendered picture of this iconic building. The light has given a super copper-coloured metallic shine that is gorgeous. Lots of fine detail.
Excellent.
Kind Regards, Ann

Hello Brian,
I have never seen this before and how amazing that it appears to be completely made of gold! This is the Midas touch!
Fine, elevated pov, which is sharp and captures the wonderful textures beautifully.
Have a lovely Sunday,

Hello Brian,
An interesting note you have given us about the Lloyd's Building and fabulous photograph to accompany it!
You have taken the trouble to time this shot so that you have caught this building in the most delicious and golden early morning light. And, knowing your dediciaton to your photography, I shouldn't be at all surprised if you made a special journey to central London just for this!
In any case, your dedication has paid off handsomely, that golden light reflecting off the stainless steel parts of the building making them appear as part of some beautifully machined mighty engine. The colours and contrasts are superb and the details are perfectly seen in the brightest parts and also in the deepest shadows. Stunning sharpness and perfect exposure too.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Brian,
Architects can be very creative in design, and the one who conceived this building surely had a lot of fantasy. This is a remarkable piece of architecture and your brilliant POV shows it off perfectly. But it seems to me more of an oil refinery than of a refined building ! The warm early morning light lays a lovely golden glow to the steel structure that catches in the light perfectly. You let us enter the third millenium before the hour with such an architecture ! The future is in our present !
Have a nice week.

HI dear Brian
What a great photo of this building that I have mixed feelings about. Sure, the gold steel and the modern shapes are stunning, but they're not what I would say are "in keeping" with the classic London that we all know and love. Nevertheless, hats off to you in showing a modern London and also in showing us a building I don't think I've seen before.
Nice work, have a good week.

What an excellent capture !! The golden lights and the steely shine of this facinating structure has been excellently taken.
The sharp and saturated vertical lines merge and contrast with the curved slots of each floor.
The depth and sharpness of the image is well expressed and justifies the mood and theme of the photograph.
Thanks for sharing, Brian.

Hi Brian,
great presentation of this famous building. I thought it has rather silver color than gold but in our photo there is no doubt it is gold-ish.
Nice geometry, very well captured.
I have to read more about the grades which you guys give to your buildings in the UK, I hear it now and then that something is grade I or II or III.

hi Brian,
a very iconic structure, and this fine image tells us precisely why. It is a very unique building, and that makes it all the more captivating to see it. I have read that this style of building is generally frowned upon in the UK, but personally, I like it! Adds to the eclectic vibe of the city.
All the best
Noel
