Photographer's Note
Have you noticed that there seems to be two speeds of people in big cities. Fast and slow. The fast with the starbucks in hand and phone plugged into their ears chatting away as they walk along. I keep thinking they are talking to themselves. Don't know about you but I am definately the latter. Still, gives you time to observe better. This picture kind of sums it up for me.

excellent one Mark. Inertia vs movement.
Good perspective with the yellow line... and of course, I love the motion blur : )

A futuristic shot I would say.
I like the two perspective merging in one:
the blurred and the sahrp.
And the ghost: it is just wonderful!

Hi Mark,
I'm definitely slow one too. And find your note funny. Paying starbucks prices and not even stop to enjoy. Like those guys even needed refreshments...
Low PoV works well and there is good contrast between motion and static guys. And I like the perspective along the rail line.

VERY EFFECTIVE CONTRAST BETWEEN WHAT IS STEADY AND WHAT IS IN MOTION...OVERALL A GRAPHIC PORTRAYAL OF EVERYDAY CITY LIFE...

Hello Mark. Very nice image. I am a bit of both, in a hurry some of the time (coffee in hand, never on the phone as I cannot stand talking on them) and very slow other times, meandering along. Rarely in between. Secretly I sometimes want to kick the slow people when I'm in a fast mood ;-) There is a nice correlation here between the fast moving figure and train. Well caught. Kind Rgds, Leilani

Hi Mark,
This is a great one, kind of shot you are a master in, and where your equipment reveals all its capabilities. I love that one, full of dynamism mixed with statism. My prefered part of the compo is this disapearing right feet.
Excellent
... please mind the gap :)

Yeah, I've noticed. Like your title.
I am rather the slow one too...with some moments of the fast one sometimes
Such an intereresting place for pics, I love the phantom of the metro here, the diagonal perspective, the two still men with rather sour faces, and those special colors you get down there...great work and mood !
Going to post one or two soon, here in Belgium in principle it is not allowed to take pics, what about London ?:-)

Hello Mark! Almost not existing and yet there, we can feel the presence although just seeing it a little. I like how "it" walks into your picture and that the rest is - besides the train - completely sharp making the connection to reality. Very good. And there is something in between, I eat in the train but I never run around with my mobile in my ear and never ever coffee, no thanks. Coffee is a ritual for me before I go out of the house in the morning reading the newspaper or in a restaurant after a good meal ... different people different habits :) Barbara.

Hello Mark,
Superb use of motion blur to heighten the dynamism in this photograph. Very good colours and clarity. I'm surprised you're still allowed to take photographs on the underground these days.

I always liked the photos of subway and yours, does not make exception... What pleases me in this one, it is obviously the movement of the passenger as well as the clothing attitude of the elegant man with the hat...
congratulations...

Hello Mark,
Your picture, although a classical underground shot, is probably one of the best examples I have seen so far. We have a long diagonal and two main subjects in motion. The fact that the rest stand still is a big advantage to show the moving ones. I also appreciate thge fact that you did not crop the top in th hastle, and it really crowns your frame. Finally the red of the wagon is an additional asset.
Thanks - and keep well Mark - Izzet

Hello Mark,
I am just discovering your gallery and... wow... so many incredible pictures in it !
I just love this one. Not only by its perfect composition but most of all by your mastering of shutter speed giving this superb dynamism.
Congratulations for this great image !

Hi Mark, I used to work in Holborn about 25 years ago. It's nice to see the station has brightened up a bit since then. Neat combination of blurred and frozen subjects. Strong perspective created by the speeding train.
Excellent piece of work. Regards, Roberto

Hi Mark,
I find good most people remained perfectly still, which contrasts well with the train motion, not sure I'm so fond of the blurry guy even though I understand your idea. I'm very surprised you're allowed to take photo in the subway, mabye it's because they have so many cameras to track you ;-)))
Have a nice day JY

Excellent observation Mark. This photo demonstrates your thoughts with the one person in such a hurry he barely shows up in the image. I like the low POV.

Hi Mark,
I believed that the ghosts lived only in the Scotland!
Here is a sort of ghost pressed to join the city probably.
Beautiful photo and interesting opposition between two rhythms.
Very well done!
Best regards

Great one Mark!
fantastic combination of blurred and sharp. The low POV is a very good idea here and yes it really shows the two speeds you speak about. I have to tell you, I'm with the fast ones. Still, I still take the time to observe all around, or I try to, at least.
By the way, I finally saved my HD, it didn't crash completely. i allready backed it up completly.
TFS, Rafa.
