Photographer's Note
The picture was taken in London’s Waterlow Park which provides excellent views over central London.
Located in North London, right next to Highgate Cemetery, Waterlow Park was donated to the public in 1872 by Sir Sydney Waterlow, an English phylantropist and a former Lord Mayor of London, as "a garden for the gardenless".
The building in the middle of the picture (still under construction) is the Shard of Glass (www.shardlondonbridge.com) right next to London Bridge train station on the South Bank of the river – the latest addition to London’s skyline. The distance between the park and theShard of Glass in 7.8km in a straight line. The park is very dear to my heart – I grew up in the area and spent a good part of 1980s and 1990s living literally next door to it.
