Photographer's Note
Last month (July 2007) was a good one for storms, on this morning it was beautiful and calm with a storm running close to the coast from the southwest, occasionally it would produce a bolt of lightning, one of which i captured and you can view a few photo's back.
The main thing about this cloud though was the colour of it, there was orange lighting up the top of the cloud from the rising sun, reds as the first rays of sun hit the sandstone cliff, and deep blue from the sky and the water and foam that reflected the sky.
Im hoping for more in September and October, these are the months for dawn storms!
I used a polarizer and no other filters, im a little concerned about the dark blue in the top center due to the polarizer!

Yes, indeed a riot of colours! Beautiful capture of the early morning sky. The water patterns are beautiful. Effect of low shutter speed is showing on there and actually helping to give the particular pattern which we are seeing on the water. Beautiful colour in the sky and the sun rays on the cliffs giving a golden look ! great work.

This is a very great shot and I very much like these strong colours - a bit surreal but it also kind of pulls the observer into the picture. I would not be worried about the dark blue bit in the sky due to the polarizer at all...

Another great image. Exposure is excellent. I like the movement in the water. Makes me want to dabble my feet. I think the polarizer adds to the drama in the sky.

Hi Jamie, you are by far one of my favorites. You pictures have such an intensuty, always great colors and composition. I wish you would it use a longer exposure to make that silky effect in the water. You seem to be always waking up early to get the sunrises or waiting for the sunsets.

Wow!! Honestly, Jamie, I can’t figure out which storm is the most awesome, if the one of perfection or of color. The intensity and dramaticity of colors and movement are even greater than the previous shot. You really chose spot on the shutter in order to preserve the beautiful texture of the spray and foam of the waves. One of my favorites.
