Photographer's Note
A mill has stood in Lower Slaughter and was recorded in the Domesday Book which was an early form of census completed in 1086 by order of King William !. It was a tax collection exercise. The present mill milled flour using the power of water and millstones. It is now a museum, tea room, shop and ice cream parlour. Very picturesque. Weather in the Cotswolds has been poor this week.

Yes, I have been here and in the museum/tea room. You were not blessed with the best of weather, which is such a pity but, even without bright sunshine, you have captured the character of this very interesting place, its old building and operating water wheel.
I wondered why there wasn't a connection between your photograph and those previously taken in Lower Slaughter; it's simple you have given an extra 'u' to Slaughter. 😆

The stone walls provide linear perspective and funnel attention towards the old water wheel. Good sharpness and always better to get a shot on a cloudy day than no shot at all. Tfs!

Hello David,
Well kept water-mill, nowadays is a museum.
Like windmills, aqueducts and sundials, in ancient times people knew how to employ nature, this one with water, to their own benefit.
Fossil-fuel replaced those "inventions", unfortunately for our planet.
