Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
I must apologise for not critiquing as much as usual, I have pulled a muscle in my right arm and find it difficult to sustain typing for any length of time.
Still, I have enjoyed looking at your photographs.
My photograph, today, shows Arlington Row at Bibury.
It just could not have been prettier, with its village green, small running stream and old houses, bursting with character.
This row of cottages was built in 1380 as a monastic wool store. This was converted into a row of cottages for weavers in the seventeenth century. The cloth produced there was sent to Arlington Mill.
Arlington Row is a popular visitor attraction, probably one of the most photographed Cotswold scenes. It has been used as a film and television location, most notably for the films Stardust and Bridget Jones's Diary.
Thank you for your interest,
Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
I hope your muscle will improve quickly so you can go back to writing critiques at your usual speed. ;-)
I recognize this village from earlier photos. It's a pretty view, not one to easily forget. The perfect light and the very green surroundings underscore the elegant beauty of the row of grey buildings. The photo angle was well chosen for the diagonal.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Beverley, hope you are well already.
Beautiful row of houses, andcient and styled, placed well on the image with the green beautiful lawn in front, and a grove on the slope behind.
Fine light, contrasting colors and superior clear outcome.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Hi Bev,I hope that your health will return to normal as soon as possible, there are no problems with the comments, today you show us a fantastic place, which usually can only be found in open-air museums. It seems to enter a fairy tale, I would really like to visit it. A great full view of very good quality as always! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Pozdrav.

Hi Bev,
The trees are framing well the cottages. The point of view is showing the details of the cottages. The quality of the light beautifies the colors. I hope that you get better soon, have a nice day.

marvelous row of medieval houses, probably rebuilt after decades . lovely repetition of shapes in the middle of the green. remind me the houses of the cathedral in wells. I had to research the name of the place because my memory couldn't find it. I remembered it was a very short name (the word goods came fast to my mind) I guess my memory linked the word well to good. haha.
take care

Dear Beverley,
In the winter you hurt your 'noble part' and now a muscle. You should be more careful! :) Joking apart its a really nice postcard showing the rural England at its best. I always wondered why would rural English architects build row houses, when there is so much place. In the Hungarian villages houses always stand alone and its very rare to see a row of houses.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Bev,
You will just have to stop giving your husband backhanders! That will ruin the muscle in your right arm every time! And don't even think of using your left hand! Jokes aside, I hope you get well soon. Lots of rest, sleep and a good diet will speed up your recovery. This row of terrace cottages is quite photogenic. I can see why a movie and tv series was shot here. Good sharpness, colour and framing. Tfs!

Hello Bev,
Who is not lighthearted seeing this beautiful and peaceful scenery with the row of miniature cottages , built in 1380. I do believe that in the late 14th century , every things were built in a small-scale like the tiny beds???
It's a good job that these cottages are very well-preserved till these days , in modern times.
After this pandemic is over, I'm sure I'll be visiting my brother again in Cotswold.
Thanks for sharing this most visited 'Arlington Row' but not for me yet!

Hi Bev,
I really enjoyed the movie Stardust and Bridget Jones is probably my wife's favourite. It is hard to imagine the connection with the movie but I suppose it does add to the excitement when you visit this attractive place.
Lovely little houses and interesting to have another green horizontal layer above them again.
Wonderful weather day!
Very well done,
M

Hi Bev,
Quite charming row of houses or one long house which ever way you put it. Design repeats, but you still couldn't do it by cloning in Photoshop! Spacious lawn is a good foreground while trees on a higher background complete the scene.

Hello Beverley,
I remember your previous pictures of these old houses.
This place looks quite fairytale. Almost too beautiful to really live in.
The green environment is also quite a relief and the beautiful spring day provided the ideal conditions for your photo series.
I wish you a quick recovery.
Best regards, Paul

sounds like you have been in the wars again Bev, after falling in the snow.
What a pretty village, this is what some think England looks like everywhere ;)
The composition is excellent as is the exposure and colours. Nice work!

Hi Bev.
I hope you feel better in your arm, that hurts a lot and maximum rest is convenient.
How wonderful this row of houses, I think I have never seen houses so old and so well preserved, their style is extremely original and the greenery of the environment could not be more wonderful, really spectacular.
Sharpness, lighting, color and magnificent composition; they are managed to perfection, in this beautiful image.
I like very much. Have a nice day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Bev,
What a charming spot; it definitely looks like a movie set. :-) These cottages are so old, but they probably look just as pristine in 2019 as they did back in 1380. I hope your arm is feeling better. Take care!
