Photographer's Note

Hello everyone,we were in Saffron Walden this weekend, attending a family wedding.
This town was completely new to us, and what a delight.
We had time in the morning for a leisurely stroll around to take in some of the sights.

The town has a long history; there was a small settlement here even in the time of the Romans.
But in the 1230s the Earls of Essex, set out an ambitious new town plan with a grid system of streets, a new market place and a new church;these elements can still be seen today.

I liked the look of this building on the corner, standing at such a strange angle.
I have rotated the shot a little. The problem with these ancient buildings is that lots of the guide lines aren't quite as straight as one would like, but there again that is part of their charm!

Thanks for looking.
