Hi Les
Most rewarding indeed; what a mysterious old landscape. Friendly and magic at one and the same time. It calls to mind the world of Tolkien; the Shire. The scale of grey nuances is most impressing.
I'm getting a sensation of a slight tilt to the left, but it might just be the slopes of the hills in the distance??
Cheers and all the best
Frank

Hello Leslie,
Technical is your second picture the most beautiful, but the change is not very big.
You remain by black and white, this is absolutely not bad, the young people try again in black and white.
Absolutely a very clear picture with a lovely panorama view about the area.
Composition and presentation are very well.
Nice done, TFS.
Have a nice day,
John

Hello Leslie
Impressive nature scene. It seems to work even better in bl/w. The haze in the bg is impressive, as are the strongly outlined tree and the fence on the right. Great pov & pp.
Cheers

Bonjour Leslie,
J'aime beaucoup cette composition en noir et blanc. Il se dιgage une trθs belle atmosphθre de l'ensemble tout en douceur ΰ cause de l'ιtalement de la brume sur le paysage.

Hello Les,
The mist doesn't mean everything to this photo, but it means a lot. The scenery is beautiful on its own but with this mist you have captured a rather fantastic atmosphere. The composition also owes a lot to the strong elements in the foreground that lead us towards the valley. The conversion to B&W was no doubt a good choice.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Leslie!
Very beautiful, attractive and pleasant-looking black & white picture!
I love seeing that mist covering the landscape in the distance! The details of the two fences and the lone bare tree really caught my attention!
Exposure and composition are true highlights here too!
TFS - congrats,

Hello Leslie, Early start is often if not even always rewarding. Poetic composition with the simple fnences, dry tress, layers of the mountains. Magical view, I like it very much

Hi Leslie
Very natural early morning shot and true to what is must look like and mono is about mood, smoothness and 'feel' of this great area. Lots of detail, shadows perspective and depth with a good tonal range, love the sky area and particularly the shrouding mist on the valley. A fine effort indeed. Congrats
Best wishes

Hello Les,
There's nothing quite like having a wife who kicks you out of bed before dawn - and I see that this was taken very near midsummer's day and before 6.30 a.m. so you were obviously up with the lark this particular morning.
But your early rise has paid off in plenty, the carpet of mist still filling the valley below as the rising sun reflects off it and silhouettes the distant hills beautifully against a glorious summer sky.
Your black and white conversion, in which you excel, has beautiful tones, contrasts and textures and the details and sharpness are truly exquisite.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Leslie,
This is a magical view of the fog enshrouded valley makes a photo evocative of Ansel Adams, especially in B&W.

Hello Les
Nicely done. Good mono with great depth and clarity with a very pleasing view. Good use of the fence posts on both sides to take your eye into the panorama.
Looks like a bit of a chilly morning!
All the best

Hello Les,
a beautiful landscape scenery with the foggy atmosphere to be the main characteristic of it.The B/W format makes the image even more effective.

Ciao dear Les
A very suggestive photo, made even more dramatic by the B&W and the excellent rendering of the mist and fog. Superb perspective created by the fencelines and the line of trees. The bare tree in the mid-background is stunning and oh so spooky. Well done, an exquisite photo.
Hugs to you and G

Hello Les
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: you can get away with a lot more creative pp work in monochrome than in glorious technicolour! In all honesty, I can't tell how much "work" you've done on this, but it's effective, apparently stressing the beautiful mist in the valley and the windy-looking sky. A classic b/w landscape.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year.
Regards
Will
