Photographer's Note

Alien tree or Arbre biplan as it is titled, standing at over four and a half metres tall and with a span of five metres across, this work is one of only 11 works realised on this scale by the painter and sculptor Jean Dubuffet.
(sothebys.com)

Another piece of sculpture standing in the grounds of Chatsworth House in 2006.
An selling exhibition by Sothebys.

"Dubuffet's idealistic approach to aesthetics embraced so-called 'low art' and eschewed traditional standards of beauty in favour of what he believed to be a more authentic and humanistic approach to image making"
(Wikipedia)

This sculpture would stand out in any surrounding and here with a view of the house in the background, we can compare the old and the new.
I did consider cloning out the chain and the post but decided against it.

One more view in the workshop.

Thanks for looking.
