Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone,
I watched a delightful programme on TV, last night about a year in the life of The Lake District. I have always loved the area and it prompted me to have a look in my archives for memories of trips there.
The first I found were images from Grasmere.
The name Grasmere is thought to evolve from
Old Norse "gres", meaning grass, and Mere - meaning lake or pool.
It is a popular village within the Lake District and is famous for its association with the Lake Poets, one of whom, William Wordsworth, lived in Grasmere for 14 years and called it "the loveliest spot that man hath ever found".
There are many walks starting from the village, of varying degrees of difficulty but all anding with stunning views across the hills and lakes or tarns.
Take care and keep safe,
Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
You show us a nice panorama image with reflections of the clouds in water.
Dead wood care for contrast against the lighter colour of the mountains in background.
Nice and soft to look at.
Very well done, TFS.
Kindest regards,
John.

Hello Bev,
I am sure poets could find inspiration from a view like this of hills, trees and a calm lake creating fine reflections. Being inspired with a camera in your hand saves a lot of time and effort. You should know, since this obviously was a view to your taste. Once again I note that the old Norse word has remained much the same in all Scandinavian languages.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Bev,
A beautiful scene which should inspire even the coldest of souls - and so not surprising that Wordsworth thought so highly of this place and no doubt felt it to be his muse.
A beautiful photograph with lovely soft light and warm colours, a fine composition and exquisite detail and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Beverley, immediately recognisable as one of the lakes of the Lake District, but wasn't sure which one.
A sunny day which gave you good light and lovely reflections of the surrounding fells.
The inclusion of the trees completes the composition for me.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Beverley,
Wonderful landscape picture whereby the mountains and the forests are well reflected in the lake.
The dark leafless branches on the foreground add much depth to the photo.
The landscape appears lovely in its soft subtle colours.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Beverley,
So this is where Wordsworth wandered lonely as a cloud. It is such a beautiful landscape with the attractive hills and the calm lake, which reflects the surroundings so beautifully and with rich colours. Who wouldn't be inspired to start writing poetry or taking pictures of course. :-) The landscape is very well composed and balanced and ideally lit.

Hi Bev
A beautiful one from your archives. When I visited the Lakes District in 1971 it was so foggy that we couldn't see anything much.
cheers

Hi Bev.
A great composition with this beautiful landscape, ideal the still waters of this lake, which produce formidable reflections, ideal the group of trees at the bottom of the lake with the two slopes of those hills, beautiful backlight from the branches of the tree on the right from image.
A magnificent color, which gives the image a lot of chromatic richness.
Excellent clear and sharp capture!
Well done. I like.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

The perfect calm ambiance around the lakes district surely can inspire any poet visiting the shores here, Beverley.
Bright late winter day when taken this, enable a marvelous view with the sky mirror on the smooth water surface.
Fine clear sight and DOF towards the far side bank and mountains.
Have a nice sunday, thanks for your critique today,
Ike

Hi Beverley,
The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the mountains. The light has a good effect on the colours. Have a nice day.
