Photographer's Note
Looks nice here but that splash of water was a lot bigger, the parkland lay wet for most of the summer and if it was not for the grass growing so well and using the water we would have been inundated by mud. But every cloud has a silver lining and here it was a reflection of the Hall with some MORE distant rain clouds.
There is also a black and white version in the workshop which I think I prefer.

Hi Simon! Miserable weather, certainly! I suffered it in Ireland for the whole of July :-( Your photo really reflects that gloomy weather. Although the sky looks better in B&W IMO, I think the image needs some more contrast in both versions. I've done a quick WS (which I can't upload today) and seen that if you do a selective correction to increase black in blues and cyans, and then increase brightness & contrast a little bit, the photo has more shine (though fake) and some more appeal.
Composition is careful and perfect, with the water leading us to the building and the tall tree balancing the right part. Even though the building is placed in a bold central position, but neutralized by its reflection. There's a small tilt?
TFS this "summer" view of Wimpole. Take care!
