Photographer's Note
Whats that all about, well when the lads do some tree surgery the youngsters start on the smaller trees until they progress to the medium size trees, a leap of courage and not for the faint hearted. Then there are those fools that have just got to do the biggest ones and stand on top crowing about their deed. But hark I here you say what about the fellow that has done it all his life and has seen all that water flowing under the bridge and paddled it. Well he becomes cunning and says " oh er, thats a bit to big and difficult for me" (what he is really saying is bugger that let one of the younger ones do the hard work today) with that the brave and stupid step forward amd claim "I'll do that and show you how to do it" little does he know that the older man is now guffling into his sleeve as he has avoid alot of hard labour for the day

A tighter crop on the three trees would have worked well, but apart from that I like this shot.
This kind of subject surely looks at it's best when there's snow on the ground; perfect natural monochrome.
I think you could have upped the contrast a bit to give the image a bit more impact, of course being careful not to lose the detail in the snow.
Cheers,
Ben

Hello Simon,
Yours composition with this trees is perfect. I like strong contrasts in this B&W photo. Quality is great, but the most important is keep quiet atmosphere what I feel looking at this picture.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Simon,
Neat composition which works particularly well in B&W. I like the depth accentuated by the way the trees are ordered. The wide space around them, helped by the snow, provide a good perspective. Regards,

Hi Simon - cute and artistic, I like the "family" of trees, the BW was a good idea, I'm not a big fan of B&W, but I can see in this case colour would have added nothing positive and would probably have distracted from the moody atmosphere.
