The view of the Presidential Palace in Kyiv.
In Poland, the people admire the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. We would be delighted to have such a president. Our is very bad.
Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy, born 25 January 1978) is a Ukrainian politician, and former actor, who is the sixth and current president of Ukraine. Prior to his acting career, he obtained a degree in law from the Kyiv National Economic University. He then pursued comedy and created the production company Kvartal 95, which produces films, cartoons, and TV shows including the TV series Servant of the People, in which Zelenskyy played the role of president of Ukraine. The series aired from 2015 to 2019 and was immensely popular. A political party bearing the same name as the television show was created in March 2018 by employees of Kvartal 95. Zelenskyy announced his candidacy for the 2019 Ukrainian presidential election on the evening of 31 December 2018, alongside the New Year's Eve address of President Petro Poroshenko on 1+1 TV Channel. A political outsider, he had already become one of the frontrunners in opinion polls for the election. He won the election with 73.2 per cent of the vote in the second round, defeating Poroshenko. Identifying as a populist, he has positioned himself as an anti-establishment, anti-corruption figure.{After Wikipedia}
After the commencement of the invasion, Zelenskyy declared martial law across Ukraine and general mobilisation. His leadership during the crisis has won him widespread international admiration, and he has been described as a symbol of Ukrainian resistance.
There are more than one million Ukrainian refugees who have crossed the Polish border in recent days, they receive in our country a lot of help and support. It is amazing how they are welcomed. We have already many Ukrainians living in Poland for many years, they work and speak good Polish and are well integrated.

Ciao Malgo,Today some beautiful photos of the presidential palace in Kiev, now under siege and with its president obviously taking refuge in safer places. Indeed, it is a symbol of detachment from Soviet power, which has instead remained intact as in countries like Belarus with puppet presidents. In my last photo I put the rainbow flags of peace and I was surprised that many have mistaken them for the LGBT symbol. But today I read a news that leaves me speechless, the partiarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, Kirill, said that the war against Ukraine is right because those who support gays are fighting ... there is no limit to ignorance. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Malgo,
What a pity you couldn't use WS #2 with the tour guide as main post. She looked so young then. ;-)
Nice photos, perhaps mainly important for their symbolic value. Zelenskyy had not quite convinced the world of his skills as President before the war started, but his courage now has made him rise high above the useless monsters ruling the neighbouring countries to the east and and the north.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Malgo,
The building is impressive. The point of view is showing the details of a section pf the Presidential Palace. I hope the Ukrainian president will survive the war and give a hard time to the russian army. Have a nice day.

Hi Malgo
Unfortunately there are a lot of no good national leaders at present (our one included too). Let us hope Zelenskyy survives this craziness and gets Ukraine back together.
cheers

Hello Malgo,
President Zelensky is definitely doing an admirable job at the moment under the hardest of circumstances. He is probably not at this address right now, but you got a great photo of the three stately doors of the presidential palace.

Pozdrawiam serdecznie (z GB)

Hello Malgo,
The presidential palace is very impressive. I like this close-up view showing the somber black ground floor. As soon as the Russina forces are expelled from the Ukraine, they should get rid of the Russian alphabet.
Regards,
MT
