Photographer's Note

For my first posting of the new year I thought Id post a really wintry view of some famous Swiss icons :o) Despite a temperature of somewhere below 10, these two friendly chaps were happily lounging in the snow.

Hi Susanna
The dogs are so cute and picture perfect in front of the Toblerone. The wispy cloud or blown snow adds atmosphere to the scene. Did you sleep up there or were you just for the day ?

tu ne pouvais pas mieux trouver comme titre. J'aime beaucoup le format vertical du cadrage qui accentue encore cette majestueuse montagne. Bravo.

Pleasant shot, nicely composed and benefiting from the excellent weather. It is indeed difficult to expose dark fur against this much snow.

Une image typique de ce coin de pays. Quoique le col du Grand Saint Bernard est assez ιloignι. Dans tout les cas, une image parfaite et trθs original de ce cιlθbre sommet.

A la fois bien ιclairι et placι sur un fond de ciel bleu, ce pic rocheux est bien mis en valeur. Une image bien rιalisιe et d'une qualitι exceptionnelle. Beaucoup de photographes aimeraient avoir devant eux ce paysage. La beautι de la photo est rι-haussι par la prιsence des deux chiens.

A beatiful shot of this famous mountain made more so by the inclusion of the two dogs.
I was in your country a couple of weeks ago and travelled around quite a bit. My visit to Gornergrat to see the Matterhorn did not have the same glorious weather that you had.

Dear Susanna,

Been a long time, hope you're doing fine.
It seems they are still there.....those dogs i mean. I photographed them a few years ago and it seems they still are a good tourist attraction on the Gornergrat. Two Swiss icons together, better promotion for Switzerland is hardly to find....a very nice picture with a perfect exposure.
