Photographer's Note
This photo of a red fox is taken from a bike path next to a busy road in the outskirts of Uppsala. Red foxes occur in a variety of environment as woodland grassland cropland and urban areas. I would say that it is quite easy to spot them in this particular area. The last few months I have seen red foxes a dozen of times. Sometimes you could get very close to them.

I am surprise at you note, you can see a fox in your home area! I envy you very mcuh, your living condition is so nice. Long focus appraoch can capture this fox perfectly. So clear and sharp image as usual.

That's a rare and wonderfully collected photo.
Taking a fox on camera, by itself not an easy task - they always see the lense and think they are beeing shot...
I once had encountered a fox in Canada's Bonaventure Isle - and swiftly he ran away, not letting me taking a picture.
Magnificent red/brown tone in excelent contrast, and vivid texture.

Gaze at the ear opening and the position of antennas handset clever fox as an animal are important elements . Great shot, nice composition, and an excellent presentation. Succesful perspective and light management to get sharpness,clarity and saturated colors.

En fantastiskt skarp bild! Detta är ett ovanligt bra rävporträtt, detta djur ser ju faktiskt otroligt rävaktig ut. Man får nästan en känsla av en Disneykarikatyr, med den smala nosen och de stora öronen. På de flesta bilden av rävar man ser, är ju djuren döda... Hur många bilder hann du få innan den försvann?

I always find it fascinating to see wild animals so close to, or even in, urban areas. I lov' the very well caught watchful expression of this fox - it makes for vivid story telling. The shallow Dof is a very fine choice. You put your (new?) 500D to xcellent use. Very good work!

Detta är en fantastiskt fin bild, något av en karaktärstudie av ett vackert djur, dessutom otroligt skarp och bra. För mig skulle det ha varit en fantastisk upplevelse. Jag tror knappt att jag sett en levande räv på nära avstånd mer än en enda gång, på en repmånad för mycket länge sedan när en räv kom fram till mitt tält en sen kväll när den känt lukten av min varmkorv. Den fick naturligtvis smaka.

Hello Ulf - I know foxes are not always the most popular of wildlife but I really like them. This red fox is lovely and you have caught him wonderfully well. I can almost see his mind working and one can understand why foxes are thought of as wily. A lovely shot, the red coat stands out well in the green grass and I love the glint in his eye.
