Photographer's Note

This was obviously not taken any of the last few days, but at the height of summer. It's strictly nothing special, just a couple finishing their afternoon coffee (or whatever they were having) at a small cafι on one of the hills of Sφdermalm island, overlooking a bay of the Baltic Sea and parts of Stockholm.

Most of the view across the water shows the small Kastellholmen (which could be roughly translated as Fortress Islet, a former property of the Royal Navy). The light red building with a small tower is the former fortress, nowadays used for conferences and offices. The navy left the area decades ago.

The green tower seen behind the fortress belongs to Nordiska museet, a museum dedicated to the culture of the Nordic region since the 16th century. It was built around the turn of the last century and is located on the island of Djurgεrden (meaning Animal Garden; it was – long ago – used as the royal hunting ground).

Behind the trees towards the left side is a glimpse of Φstermalm (meaning approximately Eastern district, just as Sφdermalm means Southern district).

More than two months later I took the photo seen in the WS.
