Photographer's Note

From crowded and noisy Phnom Penh 11 years ago to relatively quiet Stockholm 11 days ago. This is a snapshot I took while on a walk around Sφdermalm island on the first day of spring.

Here is a larger version.

Nothing special, I just liked the sun and the quiet atmosphere and the two girls with bright colours. Afterwards I noticed another girl a bit further away to the left. The fourth girl of the title is made of bronze and is kneeling beside the building. Someone has given her knitted cuffs, perhaps thinking that would keep her warm while sitting there naked in the winter.

The building from 1766 now contains a private school for the lower grades, including a nursery school.

This place is called Bjφrns trδdgεrd, Bjφrn's garden, after the Bjφrn family that owned the house created a small public park here in the early 20th century.

In the background, on a small hill, you can see parts of Stockholm's Central Mosque.

A slightly wider view can be seen in the workshop. I will also include a view, taken a few days later, of people enjoying the sun on the side of the square.

The map coordinates 59.31518 18.07315 will show you approximately where I took this photo.
