Photographer's Note
Sometimes in life we come to that big wall we just can not pass, some of us more often than others.
So – what to do, where to go?
Rewinding life is not possible. Going up is only for those who know they can fly. Going under is not an option. So going left or right is all that is left, right?
I found this sign on a wall in a parking lot made on land that was left over after a fire some years ago. Maybe it has a simpler meaning……

Very funny Ebbe ! It's can happen also in Europe too. I remember a shield at a gasoline station years ago with the inscription : " Today the Station is closed beacuase it is closed"...

Geometrical and minimalist composition. Nice play of textures (contrast between the hard matter of the wall and smooth surfaces of the sign). The B/W rendering well highlight the geometric shapes. Fine and funny note too. An excellent work of designer, Ebbe.

THis is a very good composition, Ebbe. It starts with the well selected subject and framing, then the choice of b/w (I would love to see also the color version, though), light, texture, and your note. A kind of Olli's, maybe. Very very well done.

This is a beauty, Ebbe, in all it's simplicity. Great textures, soft light, B&W is well chosen and excellent composition. The symbolism - especially as interpreted in the note - goes so well together with one of Paul's, that I've placed them both as twins. Although what I see you convey as hope, are the small plants growing close to the wall. And they are going up! Very well done!

Great fun Ebbe! I have to say it fits me on another level as well. My astrological sign is Libra, the scales. We are noted for always seeking balance. If you say white, I'll say black. If you say black, I'll, of course, say white. I'm definitely prepared to go both directions at once, as the sign suggests. Of course, as the quote I post occasionally says...
Since everything is but an apparition, perfect in being what it is, having nothing to do with good or bad, acceptance or rejection, one may well burst out in laughter.
I guess it doesn't matter whether we go right or left either... ;)
You did this perfectly Ebbe, with the sign to the far left and the interesting jog in the wall at the right. I also love the grainy rocks and delicate plants at the base of the wall. Well done! And a chuckle, as well. Thanks for pointing it out to me. I'd planned on posting later and would probably have seen it. I'm certainly glad I didn't miss it.

Excelent BW. The clearness and sharpness are perfect. Your composition is also very well managed and inteligent.
The way you've kept the small rectangle at the bottom not letting it get to the border, or the tiny piece of ground with those small plants that brake the cold geometry of the photo are really excelent.
