Photographer's Note
An unexpected sight at an outdoor fast food kiosk was this old 1950's style pop art sign in the style of saucy, cheesy British postcards. You can clearly see where the red tie, hat and hotdog have faded from red to cyan from the sun's UV rays. Not that they get that much sun this far north in Sweden. Then again, being well north of the Arctic Circle, the sun doesn't set at all, or sets for a short time then rises again quickly for 3-6 months of the year. The artist is BJ Schonberg from Virginia, USA & she has been designing these retro signs since 1983. I have added a workshop showing the kiosk. Apart from the Swedish flags there is nothing special about the scene which could have been taken in dozens of countries around the world.

Hello Chris,
A very surprising photo from Sweden. I almost thought you had made a mistake, but the name of the kiosk and the flags seen in the WS shows you were right. The sign in the main photo is very un-Swedish to say the least, but it's an amusing contribution to the site.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Chris,
Funny sign, with an authentic old fashioned look. It's surprising to see that it's in Sweden because it requires a good knowledge of English to get the pun. A good observation, and a good idea to zoom right in on the poster. I will post a workshop showing what the original colours might ave looked like.

Hello Chris, a good idea to come in close to get this shot; I like Vince’s workshop with what would have been the true colours.
I was interested to read that the sign is not quite as old as we would have first thought.
Thanks for the workshop shot of the food kiosk.
Kind regards, Jean.

Bonjour Chris,
Le cadrage serrι met le sujet en ιvidence. La prise de vue permet de voir les dιtails de l'affiche. La lumiθre rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journιe.
