Photographer's Note

This picture was taken earlier today. We have around 4 degrees below zero, and an unpleasant wind. The wind chill factor is considerable.

This picture is taken exactly ten days after my previous upload that I called "The Last Day Of Autumn". Until that day we had had a daily average temperature between zero and ten degrees, i.e. by definition it was autumn.

Then the weather changed and we and we got snow and quite low temperatures and a daily average temperature clearly below freezing point. Now winter has arrived.

Maybe this is not really the "first" winter day here in Gothenburg but this is definitely the first weekend to see anglers on the ice here. The ice was reported to be around 8 cm, a bit too thin for me...

This is, as are many of my pictures, along the abandoned part of the harbour at Lundby.

In fact, I also took this picture at the very same place, around end of February last year.

I have added a complementary picture, from exactly the same place, but another angle so you can see the boat in my previous upload.
