Glasriket / Mεlerεs / Smεland / Mats Jonasson - Person Non Grata
Every time we are driving through the south of Sweden - (and we did that in 1999, ‘02, ‘04, ‘06 and last time was in 2017) - we plan a visit to a special area in south-east of Sweden, in province of Smεland, where we can enjoy “The Kingdom of Crystal” (Glasriket).
One of these glasswork factories is in Mεlerεs:
Today it is mainly art and decorative glassware that is ground, painted and engraved. The animal reliefs in crystal by head designer Mats Jonasson are well-known all over the world.
Mats Jonasson Mεlerεs is the largest privately-owned glassworks in Sweden. The head designer at the glassworks, Mats Jonasson, was born and grew up in the district and he is also the major owner. In the exhibition hall you can see both old engraved masterpieces and the very latest creations (*).
There is also a shop at the glassworks selling glass at factory prices.

Bonjour Viviane,
C'est impressionnant ce que l'on peut faire avec du verre. Ici, l'artiste s'est laissι aller et le rιsultat est ιtonnant et trθs bien photographiι. Je comprends pourquoi tu as visitι cet endroit aussi souvent.
Amicalement

Hello Viviane,
The Scandinavians have been particularly good with glass design and working with silver, in the past few decades. I am a big fan! Although I often find modern sculptures interesting to observe, there aren't that many that I think I could live with. That is not the case with this! Each time I look at it the perception changes. It seems to move backwards and forwards with relative ease!
I think my grandchildren would look at askance but ... they could be cajoled!
Lovely!
Lots of love,
Bev :-)

Bonsoir Viviane,
This is a beautiful work of art, glass design is often very attractive and I find the colours particularly appealing here. The lighting is also very good and you captured it perfectly.
