Photographer's Note
Aranjuez has historical and emblematic buildings filled with history that, due to their importance, we highlight in this section, although most of them can only be seen on the outside since they are currently dedicated to religious, administrative or private tasks.
The House of Trades and Gentlemen occupies the western side of the Plaza de la Mariblanca to which its beautiful arcades open. Its function was the maintenance and administration of the Royal Site and accommodation of the entourage, special at the time of Royal days.
Both constructions appear unified towards the Plaza de San Antonio, although it responds to different moments. The House of Trades was designed by Juan de Herrera, and its construction continued during the 17th century. These phases did not end until the 18th century, a period in which the Casa de Caballeros (1767) ended, on the plans of Gσmez de Mora (18th century), under the direction of Santiago Bonavia and his successors Marquet and Serrano.
The house is structured around two square patios and is composed of two floors: the lower one, arranged in arcades, and the upper one, where its continuous terrace stands out. Brick and stone were used as construction materials, as well as slate slabs for the roof.
Its special location, next to the Royal Palace and where its facades overlook the Plaza de Parejas and San Antonio stand out from the rest.

Hello Luis,
I really like the patterns and repeating shapes of these low buildings with their many arches and windows. Also the roof tiles make a very nice texture, which is clearly seen in the bright sunlight here. The green parts in the foreground also add a fine colour contrast.

Hello Luis,
A third photo from this spectacular building. You managed to give all photos quite different characters. You had the most difficult light fram this side, but ut is still a very well exposed photo with nice colours and clarity. The hedges provide a fine foreground.
Best regards,
Gert

Hola Luis,
Yesterday I looked at my pictures from Aranjuez. I have a lot of them and I find it very strange that I have shown only one. Interesting composition with many arches.
Best regards Malgo

Hola Luis,
This third view of the building reinforces the concept of the multiple-arched facade but now we see that there is more than one avenue and how it surrounds the garden area.
The light was difficult for you, the archways in deeply contrasting shadows but you have still been able to achieve a detailed photograph in this fine composition.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hola Luis,
very elegant courtyard, so spacious and nicely taken care of.
The arches make such a nice repeated pattern and so so the windows and other elements of architecture.
Great contribution to your reportage from this impressive palace and its environs.
I will definitely have it on my list if I ever get to Madrid next time.
Excellent capture,
M

On each floor there is a rturning pattern that differ from the other levels, Luis.
A POV superbly chosen for such a presantation, a fair distant point included the green plants on the yard..
Buenas dias,
Ike

Hi Luis
Great point of view where strong repetitive shapes and patterns lend a tremendous impact! Superb detail and clarity but the sky colour doesnt appear natural on my screen. Overall a pleasing architectural shot.
Best regards
