THE BIGGEST NEVADA SINCE 1971
The storm "Filomena" has caught us completely and during the night from 8 to 9 and the next day it was snowing, a total of 36 hours in Madrid and in many other places in Spain without leaving it.
In Madrid it produced a tremendous chaos with thousands of people trapped in their cars on the ring roads and motorways into the city, some people spent the night in their cars.
Bus and train transport was interrupted in the city, only the subway could work.
Today the snow is still the owner of the streets, although the snow plows have cleared the main roads a bit, today there has been sun and it has melted a bit, but the worst thing is that from tonight there is a wave of cold and They forecast for tonight -3ΊC and tomorrow night -8ΊC and they will continue to increase in the next few days, so if all the snow on the streets freezes it will be a serious problem.
In addition to the main photo I show you others in the WS that I capture with risk of falling.

Hello Luis,
I was thinking of you today, hoping you would break the series from Romania to show us some fresh photos of Madrid buried under the snow. I haven't seen this much snow in Stockholm for many years, although the forecast tells us we may receive quite a lot in the coming days.
These photos may be just snapshots of relatively limited artistic value, but they have a great value as documents of an almost unique situation in this part of Europe. And the yellow leaves seen hanging from the branches weighed down by the snow are quite beautiful.
Best regards,
Gert

Pozdrav.
Kod mene sneg pada vec dva dana.
Interesantan pogled, opasan trenutak, dobro pokazano mesto u danu sa velikim snegom, lepe boje i kontrast, dobar tekst.
Dobar rad sa lepim fotografijama u radionici, dobro uhvaceni trenuci.
Sneg je napravio velike probleme.
Zelim vam lepu i mirnu noc, sve najbolje.
Paja.

Hello Luis,
I saw images of the huge amount of snow in Spain on the news and this photo also shows it clearly! I like how you included the branches heavy with all the snow in the foreground.

Luciano.

Hi Luis
It snowed when I was in Madrid for the New Year in 1972 but nothing like this. This is even better than any of the photos being shown in the media. Great composition with the snow covered trees and cars. Great workshop photos as well.
Stay warm!
cheers

Buen dias Luis,
Evidently, we see that snow grows on trees...
We saw the Madrid snow on TV last night, unusual weather phenomenon for this town.
It looks pretty white, but cold and hard to pass streets in such accumulation.
Stay well,
Ike

Hi Luis,
So impressive this photo with snow and snow ! Well taken, good effect for contrast with the yellow leaves, in the tree. A good report about these not usual snowfalls in your region. Good Ws too. Better views more impressive that photos and videos seen yesterday in the TVnews, tfs.

Hola Luis,
I don't envy those people who have to go to work and drive in these conditions but it certainly looks very photogenic and I am sure kids love it!
It appears you have more snow in Spain than we have in the North England.
Great series of photos. The main one here has the nice tree branch above to cover the sky, very good idea, it feels like the snow is all over the place.
Excellent reportage,
M

Hello Luis,
On TV we saw a report of the unusual snowfall in Spain, more specifically in and around Madrid.
It is indeed thick packs of snow, we see in your photos lying on the branches of the trees and on top of the cars.
Since this is a very uncommon phenomenon in Madrid, there is a problem with an insufficient number of snow throwers I heard.
Interesting report here with your main photo as the best choice of the three.
Best regards, Paul

Hola Luis
I never knew 'Nevada' meant snow, but the French word 'Neve' should have been the clue for me. The name means "snow-covered" in Spanish and that's certainly the case here. Be very careful of large slabs of ice sliding off the rooftops, especially at noon and afternoon, after some melting. They regularly kill people in colder parts of Europe and Turkey. I like the yellow leaves and red tail lights. Looks like hot chocolate weather! Tfs!

Hello Luis,
Today we are neighbours on TE.
I remember 1971 in Spain, but I though less snow than now
This is real exception in Spain but the pictures are pleasant to look at.
Composition and presentation are excellent.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John

Hello Luis, an unexpected sight, heavy snow in Madrid.
The trees and cars very heavily laden with snow, an interesting scene.
Three very sharp shots.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hola Luis,
There were similar photographs of the snow in Spain, on our TV screens. I wondered if you would be affected!
We have shown us a series of very detailed photographs to reveal the disruptive effects of the deep snow.
Though I am not a fan of snow, myself, I must admit that it has the most amazing effect on the streets and the landscape, painting them with an eye-catching beauty!
The cars and pavement look to be covered by a thick fluffy duvet but the trees add the artistry, as they bend tenderly over the scene, their branches heavy with soft snow.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
Keep safe!

Hello Luis
Wow....I have not seen snow like that since I was a child. Must be that global warming I have been hearing about. A well presented documentation of this event. Nice

Hola Luis,
Hay tanta nieve! Me gusta esta escena, pero yo sι que nieve como esta causa muchos problemas en una ciudad tan grande como Madrid. Pero, asi, con la nieve por todos lados y cubriendo todo, es una escena muy linda. :-)

Hi Luis
Call it Snow Silence and that's a lot of snow but a great attraction. I am jealous, you got more snow than we got here in SG he.. he. There'll be some digging to do in the morning however it makes for an excellent capture.
Best regards
