Photographer's Note
TOLEDO is a great old, medieval city in central Spain, just south from Madrid. It has a wonderful history and is known as the city of three cultures: Moorish, Catholic and Jewish. There are remains and reminders of all three, though obviously the Moorish (islamic) and Jewish are only historical. It is also a city of art, known for the great El Greco, whose house and museum you can visit.
THE CATHEDRAL OF TOLEDO dates from the 13th century and was built in high gothic style. It houses an impressive art collection as well, including works by the three Spanish greats: Goya, Velasquez and El Greco.
THIS PICTURE is the view from the rooftop balcony of our hotel, which was smack dab in the middle of the old medieval centre. A wonderful place, the narrow lanes made it a bit of a challenge to get there by car, but it was worth the scratches.

Hello Benny,
You handled sharpness, colours and contrasts cleverly, and as for the view I like the brick roofs just as much as the cathedral. I would really have liked to see the paintings by those three masters. They could probably be found elsewhere on the net. I am slightly undecided about the piece of roof seen in the upper corner: is it disturbing or is it a good explanation of your rooftop position?

Was wel een bijzonder mooi panorama uitzicht vanaf het balkon.
De kathedraal met al haar steunberen maakt wel indruk.
Bijkomend de torens zijn mooi, trouwens de ganse foto.
Zeer mooi fotowerk, bedankt.

Hi Benny,
This place is indeed central, so close to that cathedral. Good view over the roofs. From this angle we don't see much green, and the old town is obviously quite tightly built.

Hallo Benny,
Ik herken het zicht. Ik logeerde ooit in hetzelfde hotel en Luis heeft daar ook gelogeerd, liet hij me weten toen ik mijn foto op deze site toonde :)
Ik stel vast dat jij nog een gebouw (met toren) extra op de foto gekregen hebt.
Mijn foto werd in de winter genomen maar ik had eveneens een integraal blauwe lucht.
Toledo is voor mij zowat de mooiste stad in Spanje en telt tientallen pittoreske hoekjes.
Uitstekende helderheid, scherpte en compositie.

Hi Benny
I've been to Toledo twice - 1971 and 2014. In 1972 (December) it was quiet and great to explore but when we went again it was over the top touristy and overcrowded - I enjoyed it much less the second time.
That said, a good photo over the roof tops of Toledo towards the cathedral.

Hi Benny,
You have a stunning gallery of photos. Some people say that ine cannot learn anything on TE because people give shallow comments, but for me each of your photos is a great inspiration, a lesson how to take a good photo and how to process it to make it look outstanding.
Amazing point of view which allowed you this fantastic sight which I see for the first time. The cathedral tower is in the very centre surrounded by a multitude of old buildings all having a similar color tone. The sky was spotless, so nicely polarized.
