Medieval town whose remains are situated near the village of Kupinovo, in the Northern part of Serbia (the Syrmia district). It was built at the end of the 13th century or in the first half of the 14th century in the dead river bed of the Sava river as a border military fortress of the Hungarian king. At the beginning of the 15th century, it passed into the hands of Despot Stefan Lazarević and the Serbian noble family of Branković. According to the historical circumstances, the fortress remained the last capital of the Serbian Despotate.
