Photographer's Note
I was torn whether to use 'Peć' (Serbian / Christian) or 'Peja' (Albanian / Muslim). In the end, I went with Serbian, as the church is Serbian even though it is in what is now Kosovo.
It is located in Ruguva Canyon a few km west of Pec Town, where the road in north west Kosovo heads out of Kosovo & into Montenegro. The divisions of the 1990's civil war in Yugoslavia still run deep, and there have been several attempts by Albanians to burn down this church, located in an area that has historically always been Serbian. Consequently there is now a walled military post topped with barbed wire right next door and you need to approach the caretaker for a key to let the nuns admit you to the grounds of the church. Incidentally this is the first upload of this Unesco listed world heritage church to Trek earth. It's known as the Patriarchate of Pec. More information here.

Nice shadows.
On thumbnail it reminded me to the Kariye (Chora church) of Istanbul, which you know.

It's a catchy shot with the bulky unique designed church and deep intense contrasting colours drawing the eyes. A capture very much aided by brill light, shadow and shade clinched by fresh green patches. Excellent capture

It has come to a pretty pass when a church has to be protected by armed guards. Excellent capture that shows the beautiful architecture to great effect. Fine management of the light and shadow contrasts and well saturated colours. Impeccable sharpness.

Very seldom do I see where hard shadows helped an image. The overhung branches and shadows created a very pleasant view. Nice capture. Shame that religion has create so much strife. The last day will come, the real answers will be evident. Just need to get along with our fellow humans.....will that ever be possible? Thanks for the note

Quite unusual to find a church with red walls, I think.
It's a real beauty.
From your chosen point of view we get a good view of the curving lines of its different roofs.
The church has a nice location in green surroundings and I like your framing on top with the overhanging leaves.

complicated history again but I agree with you: this is an Orthodox church and not a mosque.
Fantastic colors! The red is quite rare to be used for the walls like that. Nice angle and well framed.
