Photographer's Note

When one crosses Bacau, one sees only concrete blocks gray on both sides of an encumbered avenue of cars, and people whose dye of skin seems to reflect the grisaille walls. But that it is said, all is not gray in Bacau. Look at the glowing of the basilica coldly left ground! One is struck by contrast seizing between the buildings dedicated to the simple mortals undergoing the pangs of time, and ostentation deployed here! It is imagined that the interior of the hearts is perhaps with the image of the splendour of this church. The passers by multiply the signs of cross near this one. It is true that we are already in Bucovine, the area which shelters so many monasteries. Since the fall of Ancien Rιgime, these buildings are again with the honor. One rehabilitates their paintings, one restores them after decades of abandonment. Significant means are deployed to save this inheritance of a great richness. Moreover, in all the country, the faith knows a passion without precedent, religious passions awakes, breaks out and bursts at the great day.(Translate by google)
