Photographer's Note

It's a great feeling to be back on TE after a very busy periode. Hopefully I can enchant your criticizing eyes with great photos. :)

I took this picture at dawn from top of the highest peak in the Bucegi mountains in SE Transylvania (Omu peak - 2507 m. alt.) The peak with the huge antenna on top of it in the right side is called "Costila" (2498 m. alt.). The antenna is part of the telecommunication system. I got up 45 min. before dawn to have plenty of time to prepare for shooting but when I stepped outside the shelter a thick, ice-cold fog and strong wind hit my face. Visibility was very poor, only a few meters. According to my watch the sun should already have lightened the horizon line but it was still dark because of the fog. I could barely see the rocks a few meters ahead. I thought the shooting session was over before it even started but somewhere inside I knew there was "photographic gold" hidden in the fog. I waited patiently hoping the fog will rise or at least break befor I freeze. Eventually, some gaps in the fog allowed me to take a few long-exposed pictures before the fog became even thicker. Fast-flying pieces of fog made shooting even worse than the wind and the freezing temperatures but eventually they conveyed a unique athmosphere to the pictures. It was well worth to let the fingers freeze on the shutter release. See the results yourself and feel free to critique everything as long as anyone has something to learn from it. I hope you like it! Thank you in advance for your comments/critiques!
