Photographer's Note
A part of the old town of Brasov, called Şchei.
This village-like section of the town is mostly made up of small houses built along narrow roads with gardens and small fields on the sides of the mountains. During the Saxon rule of the 13th to 17th century Romanians were forbidden from owning property inside the city walls. They could only enter the town at certain times and had to pay a toll at the Catherine's Gate for the privilege of selling their produce inside the town. It was in Şchei that Braşov's first Romanian School was established, next to the Romanian Orthodox church of St. Nicholas. (Wikipedia)
The church is visible right in the middle of the photo :).
My picture was taken from the top of the Tβmpa mountain (960 m), accessible on foot (approx. 1 h 30 min.), or by cable car (about 2 min., 9 RON = 2 Euros – up, 15 RON = 3.5 Euros up & down). The cable car station is very close to the center of the town.
The panorama that unfolds before your eyes is incredibly beautiful!

Hello Nicoleta,
What a great view. The snow hides the fact that a lot of these houses are not architecturally very interesting. Instead the white cover makes the city look like out of a fairy tale. This way we can also see the natural growth of the area throughout the centuries. I was here not so long ago, but walking the streets in summer I could not imagine seeing the area like this.

This aspect of snow is marvellous, as it covers all the dirt and outlines the remaining beauties. I don't know Brasov, but from your comprehensive POV that shows everything, it looks like it does not need a blanket of snow in order to look beautiful. Marvellous crisp photo. Thank you for showing.

You found a good vantage point giving a wide view on the "white" city with its "tentacular" roads ;)

Anybody from your position would snap the same, but you knew how to crop your photo.
It's difficult to make a good photograph in such a weather condition. But you have made it.

The view from the mountain is amazing. The light falling on the town is very beautiful and I like the patchwork of snow-covered buildings with glimpses of the coloured walls. A compelling iamge - congratulations.
