Hi dear TE Friends

This weekend, I decided to enjoy Lisbon with my kids.
When they are playing in the area and i made this picture.

Enjoy it and have a nice week.

This one is the Electricity Museum.

In the workshop you can see a panoramic view of the Museum from the seaside

The new Electricity Museum opened to the public in May 2006 as a reflection of a more up-to-date concept of a museum. Associated with its primary vocation as a repository of the past is an area that is also designed to show the present and discuss the future of energy.

The Tejo Power Station is one of Lisbon's architectural landmarks and boasts a faηade of undeniable beauty. In its day it was a real pioneer in electricity generation. Today, almost a century since it was built, the power station has again taken on innovative aspects and a prominent position as an Electricity Museum.

The main part of the permanent exhibition is the power station itself, i.e. all the equipment making up the old generating unit, which is still all there today. The exhibition endeavours to give visitors a clear idea of the way Lisbon's old thermoelectric plant worked, identifying its different components and explaining how it operated.

O Museu da Electricidade ou Edifνcio Central Tejo situa-se na freguesia portuguesa de Santa Maria de Belιm, no concelho de Lisboa, mais precisamente na Avenida de Brasνlia. Ι um edifνcio do sιculo XX, tendo a sua construηγo sido iniciada em 1914. Cinco anos volvidos comeηa a sua laboraηγo.
Sofreu diversas ampliaηυes, das quais se destaca a que foi delineada pelo engenheiro Fernand Touzet e tambιm o edifνcio das caldeiras de alta pressγo. Este ϊltimo edifνcio inicia a sua laboraηγo em 1941.
O fornecimento de energia elιctrica ΰ cidade de Lisboa era efectuado por esta central termoelιctrica. Passa ΰ reserva em 1951, tendo sido desactivada oficialmente em 1975. O edifνcio, propriedade da EDP, foi adaptado a museu no final da dιcada de 80 tendo sido inaugurado em 1991.

The Electricity Museum looks splendid, I've never seen an electricity museum before, I really wonder what it is inside.

J'aime beaucoup ces architectures industrielles, je vais d'ailleurs mettre cette photo dans mon thθme : "nouvelle vie pour de vieux bβtiments".

Tu as bien profitι de la lumiθre, elle est abondante et c'est la moindre des choses le lieu que tu nous montres.

Hello Aires,
It proves, that ISO 100 offers very natural colouring, reasonable contrasts, and beautiful image of drawing in the picture. Of course, it's proper always to have with himself tripod, that to be able to take advantage of longs of exposition. Very nice, evening- picture with splendid reflections of lights in water. There pleases to me chosen by You POV, composition and the superb colouring of this photo.

Hi Aires,
Nice, very nice. The red buildings are standing proud along the river with relection, but also in great contrast to the late blue sky. That the lights are on is giving it an extra boost...i like that a lot...very nice work.

I think you could add some fill light on this image to get some more warm glow from the structures, but quality of your night view is fine, pity about the cars though.

I regret a little the cars in the foreground (but I suppose it was impossible to avoid). Except that, the archicteture and the lights make the place really great. And you managed that well. Lovely red spots on the top.

Nγo estaria ΰ espera de tanta nitidez numa foto tirada de um barco (cacilheiro?). A luz tb. estα fantαstica, mas enfim, isso explica-se com algum trabalho feito por quem sabe, tanto na altura de disparar, como depois. Alιm das cores excepcionais, gosto da perspectiva.

HI Aires, i have seen this wonderful building when using the boat across the river but i must say that at night it is even beautifuler. Pitty that in our days is almost impossible to take a city photo without the disturbing presence of automobiles ;-(
