Hi dear TE friends

Place : Lisboa,(downtown)

Region: Municipality- Lisboa / Parish- (downtown)

Theme: The Funicular II

To see: map view and Group themes: Tram, funiculars and lift of Lisbon /my favorite theme of Lisbon :)

You can find Lavra's lift in Lisbon - Calada do Lavra.

It's the oldest lift in Lisbon - 124 years.

This one links Rua Camara pestana and Largo da Anunciada in a 188 meters rail with 22.9% tilt avarage.
Lavra's lift was built by a portuguese engineer - Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard in 1884. Raoul has also built Gloria's, Bica's and santa Justa's lifts.
The company "Iron railways of Lisbon" is the owner of lavra's lift. This ancient beauty piece is classified as a national monument since 2002.

Lavra's Funicular - history

*The weather wasn't as good as I desired. The light of the day didn't help at all for taking photos.

I hope you like it, a big hug to all of you TE friends
