Hi dear TE friends
For now, this is the last picture of this known place in Lisboa.
This is the Park of Nations in Lisbon 15 minutes before sunrise.
On left you can see the Saint Gabriel and Saint Rafael towers. They have 110 meters height and are two of the biggest towers of Portugal
On right side, the dark buiding is the Oceanarium.
In background your can see the Atlantic Pavilion and the 'Vasco da Gama' bridge.
The idea to build Atlantic Pavilion was born in the first discussions over Expo’98 Master Plan.
Unlike other European capitals, Lisbon didn’t have any polyvalent Hall to host events, congresses and big sporting venues.
Portuguese halls, at the capital or throughout the country, either had limited capacity – till 4 thousand people – or were hardly adaptable to non-conventional events, like indoor high competition sports.
Further on, they didn’t have the technological equipment needed for modern live TV broadcasts or for big music and theatre events.
There was a big gap between halls with capacity for 4 thousand persons like Coliseu, the pavilions built for others purposes and then adapted, and the big open-air sites.
On the account of this circumstances Portugal was repeatedly staying out of Indoor Sport Championships and it was very difficult to produce big concerts with cold and rainy weather.
That’s why it was made the choice to build this kind of equipment integrated in Expo’98 Master Plan area.
Its location had the advantage to serve not only the population of the Portuguese major metropolitan area, but also the country as whole, as it stays very near from Oriente Station (a inter modal public transport platform) and the main road rings.

Pavilhão Atlântico
A ideia de construir o Pavilhão Atlântico remonta às primeiras discussões sobre o Plano de Urbanização da EXPO’98.
Ao contrário de outras cidades europeias, Lisboa não possuía uma sala polivalente para acolher espectáculos, congressos e acontecimentos desportivos de grande envergadura.
As salas existentes, tanto na capital como noutros pontos do país, ou tinham lotação limitada - até 4 mil lugares -, ou eram dificilmente adaptáveis a eventos não convencionais, como o desporto de alta competição em recinto coberto
Além disso, não dispunham do aparato tecnológico exigido para coberturas televisivas modernas ou pelos grandes espectáculos musicais ou teatrais.
A configuração do Pavilhão Atlântico lembra uma nave espacial… mas a sua forma é também a do caranguejo-ferradura, espécie surgida há 200 milhões de anos

Excellent early morning blue hour shot! Your composition is great using the fine reflection to create depth and balance. The lighting and colors are fine with nice sharpness and detail. Your POV is nice using the seawall to create a diagonal through the shot giving the photo a sense of direction.

Hello Aires,
Fifteen minutes before sunrise a wonderful time of the day, you have been well rewarded by your early rise.
The photograph is so clean and crisp, your POV and composition include many interesting elements. The dawn light reflecting into the glass fronts of the two buildings is wonderful. The water looks like a mill pond.

I've seen another view of the same place in your gallery, despite the modern arthitecture, the scenery giving the feeling of peace, may because of the calm sea surface (long expoure effect maybe) I can watch this capture for minutes, thanks for relaxing in the middle of a busy day.

intensive blue with light spots arranged on specific lines, impressing blue hour one from this park, where the trees add a lot by the row and the small inclusion of the oceanarium care for balance to them and the facades at the left. The water is just like ice.

I like this view! imho, sometimes a certain moment of the morning time looks almost like a certain moment of the evening "blue hour". It's always scarcely perceptible.. but thanks to the camera we can capture the moment ;)
I like the clarity of the air and warm lights so nicely and softly reflected in the quiet water. Very good composition and well-balanced colours! I like this tranquil mood.
