Photographer's Note

As I still didn't go out with my camera here n Kuwait, I've decided to post another shot from Ursa beach from my Portugal visit.

Location: Praia da Ursa (Ursa Beach)
Getting There: By public transport. From Lisbon Rossio station take the train to Sintra (about 45 minutes). Then take the bus to Cabo da Roca, the western most point of continental Europe (another 45 minutes and quite a ride through tiny alleys. It is of course much easier to get there by car
Comments: There are two paths leading down to the beach. One is steep and difficult, the other less so, but longer and the smaller loose stones instead of the bigger rocks make for a different challenge.You should definitely not be afraid of heights :)

Lucie this place is truly beautiful. The shape of the rocks and the water texture create a dreamlike scene. Good colours and pov to capture this magical place. Thanks :-)

This is really nicely done and offers something different from some of the other Ursa Beach shots on TE. The two aspects that I enjoy immensely are the reflection of the sky on the foreground sand and the differing rock colors on the distant stacks framed by the more reddish ones. Super job and thanks for sharing.

Hi Lucie,

Looking at the three versions youve made from the same location, I realized how much you can create a totally different mood, depending of the light, the weather condition or the exposure management.

I can see that you have been there for a long period on the same day, and all your results are amazing. This one is gorgeous, with a slick water mouvement, fantastic blue reflection on water flow and amazing details in rock formation. The sharpness is at the top and the composition very attractive.

I love the surreal feel of this "compressed" composition. Nice how the warm and cold colors of the rocks help to separate the different layers, without it would be quite a jumble.

Dag Lucie,
Seeing this one i was in a big wow, but seeing the others, and especially the warmer version i found this one a bit cool. But maybe there was some different light, or different exposure. What i really like here is the 8 sec exposure, which makes the foreground so soft and smooth, truly wonderful.

Geat shot Lucie! I've seen a number of photos of this place on TE, and it is always incredible. Something about the way the light hits the rocks makes this very special, creating a good sense of depth or 3 dimensions. Beautiful!

Beautiful capture of a beautiful place. This are very interesting rocks. One nitpick: there could be a bit more contrast in the lower half of the image. Just my 2cents.

The title you chosen for this series is really good. Your pictures from the Ursa are really impregnated with the scent of dreams. Those electric blue tones have a lot to do with it, I guess... I prefer this one over the previous with this same compo. The silk effect on the water is a passion of mine. Very good. See you in two weeks. Hope that you will be able to have shot some photos of your new country when I come back. :) Stay safe, l.

Its always nice to see another photo of the Ursa. I really like the way you have compressed all the different layers of rocks into this photo. The overall blue color scheme makes everything seem soft and dreamlike, just like the title implies.

Hi Lucie - pure magic, I've been to Lisbon twice but never knew about this beach, needless to say, next time I'm in the area I must go there, outstanding execution here, I guess Kuwait is just as unphotogenic as I imagine it to be.
