Photographer's Note
Trancoso, medieval town of poet and prophet Bandarra and a symbol of national independence.
Trancoso is the Sincelo Capital of the World not because of frequency but because of the intensity it can reach.
A unique combination of climate factors, starting with the elevation of 900 meters at the top of a kind of plateau (that extends north to Penedono and Sernancelhe) and a location at the meeting point of atlantic and continental air masses.
To the east is too dry, to the west too humid, to the south and to the north too low for sincelo.
In winter saturated atlantic air can lead to up to a week of fog, with temperatures more or less constant slightly below freeze.
One can watch sincelo grow over the trees by the minute.
Sincelo is still a recurring event in Trancoso. However record measurements like in early January 1986 seem to be now part of History.
Wonder why...

interesting lighting nice compositon. it might be a nice to say what Sincelo is. i did a web search and none of the references were in english. i believe, based on the translations i got, that sincelo is when the ice condenses on trees etc but i'm not sure.
