Photographer's Note

This Picture is for all the TE Members that like Nature and is also dedicated to:

1). A Portuguese TE Member that have interesting posts about S.Miguel that is ILENA LO with the nickname NATURALLAND that have the FIRE Lagoon in a splendid view here_1: Link and my previous post in a hazy day here_2: Link

2). To a new TE Member from USA that have also very good posts that is BRUCE CHRISTIANSON and with the nickname PHOTOLOGIC that you can see a splendid capture of a recent disappeared vertical ISLET at VILA FRANCA do CAMPO here_1: Link and other detailed Islets taken by me from PONTA do ESCALVADO here_2: Link

This is a return to the beautiful S.Miguel Island the second Eastern Island of Azores Archipel of nine brothers and sisters, that are live with nature in the vast central North Atlantic Ocean somewhere half a way between Europe and North America. THIS one was captured at Varzea-PONTA do ESCALVADO near a small fishing village called MOSTEIROS in the Western part of this Island that you can see at your right in my my next Link information. This is a very well known place where there are some particular shapped small Islanders emerging from the sea in a vertical way that you can see in detail in this previous picture here: Link

Now, I present this picture of the Monk a Vertical Icon Islander in a sunny day moment after Midday with the sun rays at near 120 degrees of my left and at my face the enchantement of the blue and the contrasting sea boardline wild nature coast. THANKS to them for their complementary great and excelent views of this Island.

TECHNICAL INFO: ISO=64 Focal Lenght=133mm and a very small crop at the lower base and also a small touch of Contrast.

IMPORTANT Note: I post 3 WS-Workshops where YOU can see a Google Map View with the near local of these shots that is referenced with a Green Camera Icon and Escalvado at the left of the Map, the second is a artwork Neatimage of this post and in the last one a similar view taken after this posted one. This nice particular Atlantic Island have harmonious mountains, sea scenery, walles and dolphins, cows with milk and excelent cheese for all the world, black and green Tea, pinneaple and also a great wonderful volcanic sceneries, It's a natural and preserved Island that have many people linked to United States, Canada, North Europe, Brazil and also naturally to Continental Portugal.

Un plano alto muy interesante para mostrarnos toda la espectacularidad de estos esplιndidos paisajes. Me gusta el punto de vista y el encuadre. La foto tiene unos colores preciosos (sobre todo el mar), se aprecian muy bien todos los detalles, como la espuma de las olas rompiendo en las rocas, y le has dado una buena iluminaciσn y contraste.

A superb sea here bathing the bottom of that cliff. Very nice POV and beautifull colors. A taste of holldays (but not a place for sunbathing).

Another great photo of the ocean. You captured the feeling of the rough and powerful ocean against the rocks and the sculptures that the sea can create. The clear blue water is amazing!

I am leaving tonight to Portugal. I will be in Caldas for three weeks and I will be taking many photographs. I will also be in Obidos everyday to further capture the feeling of the town for Easter. I can't wait to try my new camera, a Fujifilm S3 Pro.

Hello Fernando,
The deep blue tone of water trying to wash out the rocks is looking great. The vertical island, (the main subject) is amazing. It looks like ruins of some towershape temple. The natural carving in the form of horizontal layers on this island including other rocky members are amazing and shows natural process of making rocks.
Good POV and great composition.

Hi Fernando,
A superb bird's eye view of this rugged coastline. One can hear the crashing of the surf and feel the harsh texture of the rocks. I especially like the tall outcropping standing just offshore. The greenish hue of grass/lichen on the rocks enhances. A very fine capture, Fernando. All the best.

Une vue impressionnnante, il y a de l'altitude et de la plongιe. IL y a un peu de surexpositoin dans l'ιcume des vagues mais on sent leur puissance.
Tu aurais pu aisso, en sous-exposant un peu, obtenir des couleurs plus vives.
Un joli point de vue.

This bridge must be very high to provide you with such a high vantage point. There are lovely colours in the sea, especially where the foam mixes with the stronger blue of the sea. The light here is very good allowing you to capture excellent detail in the rocks.
You definitely made the right choice as your main post. The neatimage takes away the detail I am enjoying so much, and whilst the zoomed-in shot is good I prefer this wider view.

Glad to see you again and post at the same time you did. Fortunaly a customer changed a date this afternoon at the last minute so, here I am.
This is a very nice maritime view and the success this composition had is certainly due to the quality of the shot and the exceptional configuration of the coast. You did well in framing as you have a wide part of the shore and this "monk" at the right place, a pity that the frame cannot give upper in the cliff facade, this could be more spectacular ( hι, hι its impossible with the cameras we have)
