Photographer's Note
One of the attractions in Lisbon is its gravity-defying tram system. We had fun riding this small carriage the short distance down this steep narrow street, and at the bottom I jumped out and walked back up the street to photograph its ascent. Covering such a short distance and not running all that frequently, the tram is now more of an attraction to tourists or for the truly weary with heavy loads to carry.
This 900 mm system once covered the city in a dense network and comprised 160 km of track in the 1950s. Since then, many of the routes have been axed and parts of the track even lifted or filled in with tarmac. Today the track length is only some 25 km and the small single carriages are usually crammed with passengers.
The high contrasts in this shot made the exposure difficult. I underexposed the shot by 1.3 stops to avoid overexposure. Later I made two exposures from the RAW file and combined these using Photomatix software to try and retain the highlights while bringing out some more of the detail in the shadows.

Excellente composition et magnifique rιalisation sur cette image.
Ce qui est le plus bluffant est la gestion de cette belle lumiθre qui frappe la cabine sur le bas et ta maξtrise du HDR qui t'a permis de restituer quand mκme tous les dιtails dans l'ombre tout en conservant ΰ ton image un aspect trθs naturel.
Ton point de vue assez bas avec les rails qui emmθnent le regard et le cadrage vertical sont trθs bons aussi.
Vraiment une trθs belle image.

The composition is perfect.
The dark facades of the houses on the left is in good contrast to the colourful roofs and facades in the background.
The touch of bright sunlight on the tram is the finishing touch onthis picture!

Hi Susanna. Very good this one, I have always wanted to see this city and the famous old trams, and I hole that one day we will. This is well framed and your post-processing turned out pretty darn good. Despite the graffiti (probably JY), the tram is so cute and it's position down the steep hill so dynamic. Hope you didn't get run over or fall down the hill. The guy is a bonus too.

Sharpness is excellent, exposure is perfect, as well as the depth of field, colors are naturally beautiful, with the most suitable level of saturation and, above all, the pov was excellently chosen and the compostion was superbly elaborated!

I have to admit, my understand of the exposure process you've used to create this shot is a little sketchy - although I think I understand the principle - and thanks for mentioning it.
The results - on the other hand - speak for themselves with this shot. So, whatever you did, you did it very well, ending up with a shot which to all appearances looks effortless and natural.
