Again the the longest bridge in Europe, the Vasco da Gama Bridge. This picture was taken before the sunrise

The Vasco da Gama Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge flanked by viaducts and roads that spans the Tagus River near Lisbon, capital of Portugal. It is the longest bridge in Europe (including viaducts), with a total length of 17.2 km (10.7 mi), including 0.829 km (0.5 mi) for the main bridge, 11.5 km (7.1 mi) in viaducts, and 4.8 km (3.0 mi) in dedicated access roads. Its purpose is to alleviate the congestion on Lisbon's other bridge (25 de Abril Bridge), and to join previously unconnected motorways radiating from Lisbon.
The bridge was opened to traffic on March 29, 1998, 18 months after construction first began, just in time for Expo 98, the World's Fair that celebrated the 500th anniversary of the discovery by Vasco da Gama of the sea route from Europe to India.

A ponte Vasco da Gama ι uma ponte sobre o rio Tejo, na αrea da Grande Lisboa, ligando o Montijo e Alcochete a Sacavιm, muito prσximo do Parque das Naηυes, onde se realizou a Expo 98. Inaugurada a 4 de Abril de 1998, a ponte ι a mais longa da Europa e a quarta mais extensa de todo o mundo, com os seus 17,2 km de comprimento, dos quais 10 estγo sobre as αguas do estuαrio do Tejo. O vγo (comprimento do tabuleiro) do viaduto central ι de 420 metros. Foi construνda a fim de constituir uma alternativa ΰ ponte 25 de Abril para o trβnsito que circula entre o norte e o sul do paνs na zona da capital portuguesa.
Aquando da sua construηγo foi necessαrio tomar especiais cuidados com o impacto ambiental, visto que atravessa o Parque Natural do Estuαrio do Tejo, uma importante αrea ΰ escala europeia de alimentaηγo e nidificaηγo de aves aquαticas. Foi tambιm necessαrio proceder-se ao realojamento de 300 famνlias.
O nome da ponte comemora os 500 anos da chegada de Vasco da Gama ΰ Νndia, em 1498.
Ι uma das mais altas construηυes de Portugal, com 148 metros de altura.

Beautiful shot Aires
Love how the bridge bends into the image and the exposure looks very good here. Sublime blue-hour and the reflections are a bonus, just enough to give the shot some impact.

Hello Aires,
interesting POV showing the curve of the bridge going right to the Infinity! If I ever come to Lisbon I will surely go to see it! It is very impressive, especially as it looks in this photo :) I like night shots like this, when it is not too dark yet, and the lights are so nicely and softly reflected in the water.

Seen many times before, but everytime a joy to see this masterpiece in construction. Lines, light and reflection is nice, but as in many of these shots from this bridge, it hardly can go wrong because the bridge itself is very photogenic....very nice work.

Very good shot of this bridge. This has a great sense of space, and captures the graceful curve of the whole structure. Great timing to get this at twilight, giving some nice light in the sky and allowing us to see the lights on the bridge too. Well done!

Vista classica com a Vasco da Gama e a jα famosa curva que descreve ao fundo, sempre um interessante tema para uma foto pela profundidade que a ponte lhe confere.
Os tons do cιu carregado contrastam muito bem com os das luzes da ponte.
Os reflexos na αgua tambem criam um belo atractivo especialmente devido a sua sucessγo ao longo da parte inferior da ponte.
