Photographer's Note

The Western Algarve coast (Southern Portugal) has amazing cliffs, rock formations, maritime caves, etc, that often shelter beautiful little beaches. This hole in the rocks, like many others, may seem a good spot for paparazzi and voyeurs :-(
This in Praia do Vau, between the most famous of Alvor and Praia da Rocha ("Beach of Rock").
By the way, a free tip for the foreign paparazzi (the Portuguese ones already know it) : former President of the Portuguese Republic, Mrio Soares, has a cottage nearby.
Mr Soares shall not bother you (and I guess he doesn't care about paparazzi either), but if you want to avoid the tourist crowds, please don't come to the Algarve in summer. If you want to enjoy and discover the Algarve don't come either around New Year or around major holidays (check the Portuguese calendar). In autumn, spring and often in winter, the climate is pretty nice and even the more famous beaches are quite calm. You can enjoy the sun or explore the rocks, caves and little beaches often with nobody else in sight.
