Photographer's Note

Hi to all TE members, sorry for being away for a while but that is what life does, now and then we need to go away in order to gather new ideas. This time I brought to you a mini series about a bridge that was built in my home town of Vila Real de Santo Antonio in the southern region of Portugal, called Algarve. I will be giving you a few different angles of this bridge which is not usually seen on the net, unless, of course, you are a local and know where to go, in order to snap these shots, which is, gladly, my case, so keep an eye for the next pics coming your way.

The Guadiana International Bridge is a bridge that crosses the Guadiana River connecting southern Spain and the local town of Ayamonte and town of Castro Marim in Portugal. Completed in 1991, its structural type is a cable-stayed bridge, with a deck of prestressed concrete, the bridge is open to vehicles only, pedestrians are not allowed to use it and for them there is a ferry service from Vila Real de Santo Antonio.

The bridge has a span of 324 metres and a total length of 666 metres, the main support pilons are about 95 metres high with a deck width of 18 metres and clearing the water by 20 metres high. Many thanks for your attention and keep an eye for the next shots.
