Photographer's Note

Hi TE friends

I dedicate this photo of the Arrabida Bridge at Porto to my team that won the europe league football

This photo was taken near the chapel in the Serra do Pilar. The Serra do Pilar is a Portuguese mountain that is located in the parish of Santa Marinha, (Vila Nova de Gaia). Here lies a famous monastery has been transformed into barracks.

The Arrbida Bridge is an arch bridge over the Douro River that connects Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia, in Portugal. It is the most downstream bride across the Douro River, just a few kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean.

At the time of its construction in 1963, the bridge had the largest concrete span of any bridge in the world. The total length of the tray is of 615m, having a width of 27m. The arch is 52m tall and the plate rises up to 70m above water level.

The engineer responsible for its project and construction was Edgar Cardoso.
