Photographer's Note
In my previous shots I post some approach sceneries and landscapes of the beautiful S.Miguel Island situated in Azores. Now I will post my recent pictures about Faial and Pico, two nice and also beautiful Islands in the Portuguese archipel that is situated in the vast Atlantic Ocean somewhere half a way between Europe and North America.
This picture was taken with good time at morning with the sun up and backword when I was crossing from Horta the main town of Faial to Madalena a small village in Pico Island, where is situated the highest Portuguese mountain. You can see Horta at distance in the picture.
This place is near Madalena and have two great rocks in the Sea. One is called STAND UP and the other STAND DOWN.
These two Islands that are part of the five Central Islands, are visited all the year for several thousand of tourists.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Here in my Photo Information YOU have a WS-Workshop with a picture taken five minutes before for a complementary shot and information.
My current Travel Serie would be these two particular Atlantic Island with harmonious mountains, sea scenery, walles and dolphins, cows with milk and excelent cheese for all the world, great wonderfull volcanic sceneries and nature and I will try to catalog in different selective ways to post.
This is a natural and preserved Island that have Sailors, Solitaire navigators and Sportiv Game-Fishing with people linked to United States, Canada, Brazil and also naturally to Continental Portugal.
Today 14/Aug/2005 is the last day of a year weekly event in FAIAL Island - The SEA Week.
Note: I'm in holidays and the Upload this post from Faial. Sorry for my delay in posts and critiques. As soon as possible I will do my best.
Thanks to ALL of YOU and I hope that a must of all TE members like this new approach.
Thanks in advance and the best for you all.

Bonjour Fernando,

Hi Fernando. Well I'm assuming Stand down is on the left and Stand Up is on the right. This was a great idea to take a shot off the back of the boat like this. I am impressed with the clarity. Good shot Fernando!

Hi Fernando, This is a beautiful shot. I like the dynamics provided in this picture. The two small islands look like guards greeting you boat. You have done an excellent job to take this picture in a moving boat. The picture is very clear, sharp with nice contrast. Well done, my friend.

Ola Fernando,
I really like this picture,
Splendid how you caught the wave,
I really appreciate your work, because as I, on my holidays, was on the boat, I couldn't catch the wave in the right moment,

Hi Fernando,

Hi Fernando! I've been away for several days, haven't had time to check TE. Anyway, I really like the way you captured those 2 island rocks and placing the disturbed water in between them! Hi Fernando, I really love this one, it's so dynamic! The white of the surf, and the konwledge that the boat has just passed these two beautiful rocks, really gives speed to the image.
The white is so beautiful here.
The picture reminds me of my boat ride last year may, after a 3 days of storm, we went to the Skellig islands, (Ireland) and the sea was still very rough, but I liked it so much!

Hi Fernando!
As Scilla & Cariddi, the two rocks draw a gigantic portal in the sea. Excellent colors and sharpness... i can even to see you (your shadow) in the waves taking the shot !!
Well, not really so, but with a little bit of Phantasy, stay stable on a boat running on the waves, is not so easy!
Excellent work, another nice 'invite' to visit Portugal! and thank for the huge note!

Ricardo
