Photographer's Note

For centuries Chelmsko Slaskie (Schφmberg) used to be one of most famous textile centers in central Europe. Local weavers produced linen fabrics that were exported to the whole Europe and even newly found America. Later its fate deteriorated, only few weavers stayed but the big history of the place is still there to be seen.

Here is the view of the houses surrounding the town's central square - they are still in a very bad state, but things will definitely change. One of the buildings has beeb refurbished recently and given the EU funds for underdeveloped areas Chelmsko should become a really nice place quite soon. Especially that it is just a few kilometres from Krzeszow and not far away really from Walbrzych where the Ksiaz palace is.
See the official history note on the town's portal (Polish)
