Photographer's Note
Waiting for the Tsar.. forever
I am afraid the staff at the Bialowieza train station today is a bit out of date if they are still waiting for the Tsar who had this station built exclusively for him. But who knows maybe President Putin will pop up one of these days… Going hunting for some Bisons..
Anyway an interesting stop under the TE workshop in Poland in April 2006.
The Tsar's Restaurant in Bialowieza
The restaurant is located in a unique architectural monument-a wooden railway station Built exclusively for Tsar Nicholas II.
In 2005, the owners took what had been a ruin and meticulously restored the building To resemble the atmosphere of Anna Karenina's times. Every detail, from antique furniture and painting, photographs and windows has been arranged to period and style. If you appreciate exquisite cuisine and historical buildings this is the place in the heart of the Bialowieza Forest. Four stylish chambers: The hunters room, Tsar's room, a romantic salon and The representative Main Hall.

Hi Jack,
I remember this place clearly and I must say that You did a good job here with transforming this scenen into sepia tones and I like Your perspective and original title. Maybe they shall look at the other side, to the west, if somebody will come one day, I'm affraid it will be from the western side :)

Good shot, Jack, and fun intro for your notes. I really like the classic look that the contrasty sepia conversion is bringing to this one, I would expect Buster Keaton to arrive any second on a steam train. Good perspective effect looking along the railroad tracks and the platform, and good add with the persons in the frame - I like the somewhat anticipating pose of the woman. Interesting photo.

Bonjour Jack,
trθs judicieux passage au sιpia, seule la tenue vestimentaire de la dame trahit le modernisme de la scθne.
Le cadrage est parfait l'endroit de prise de vue bien choisi.
Best regards.
Daniel.

Hi Jack.
An interesting shot nicely treated to create a 'past' atmosphere.
The post processing works great for this... But, is the guy on the left talking on a mobile phone?? :-) Ah, a sign of times...

Your PP in Sepia and difusion (?) creates the mood. Would love to know a bit more how you created the effect.

love this mood here (i think it was a superb place for memorizing tsar);

Hello Jack!
I like your work. The placement of the people is quite interesting, I am wondering what the guy on the railroad is doing. Sepia adds some mood, indeed, as from the long lost and gone days.

Seb
