Photographer's Note

The small town of Dirdal, from where this photo was taken, is a port for the shipment of large quantities of stone, and on the opposite bank of this fjord, there is a shipping port. The stone is quarried from the mountains, but it seems to be taken from tunnel excavations, so the scenery remains intact. I have seen the stone being used to fortify the steep rock faces at the side of the road from Dirdal to Byrkjedal.
