Photographer's Note
This statue is found at Frognerseteren in Oslo. The cross country skier is Johan Grψttumsbrεten, a local hero.
The picture was taken at around 12.30, it is getting dark already!
The altitude at Frognerseteren is 435 meters and here was plenty of snow and a lot of people had brought their skis. Snow is supposed to be a valuable asset when skiing, even if you actually can manage without snow.
I understand that central Europe is having very cold weather now and snow even in Provence. Up here in Gothenburg we have today plus 6 degrees and no snow!
I think the statue is
exactly here but unfortunately not visible behind the tree.

Hello gunnar. Silhouette of a ski driver before the sky. The photo pleases me very well. Is successfully composed and worth seeing. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Good morning, Gunnar!
I never have heard this name - but I like this fancy statue very much. There's a lot of dynamics in it - and I like hoy you "silhouetted" it front of the sky. Thanks for the interesting links!
By the way: -14°C this morning!
Greetings from from very sunny Siegen. After luch: hiking ;-) !

Hello Gunnar,
A good capture of this dynamic statue. I like the upwards point of view and the silhouetted outline against the pale winter sky. It is unusually cold here in South-West France also, with a few centimetres of snow on Tuesday that is still lying, but not enough to ski on by now ;-)

Hej Gunnar,
A very expressive and lively statue, its qualities underscored by your POV. You were lucky to capture it before it got dark. In Stockholm today we also have mild weather and a spotless blue sky. Spring has arrived, at least for a day.
Hδlsningar,
Gert

Greetings, Gunnar.
Very interesting viewpoint shows the skier nicely framed by the trees and buildings.
I looked at your map and then found the Virtual Earth version here. Is the skier visible?
Keep warm!

Hi Gunnar,
The statue looks splendid with your perfect POV.
The sky is getting dark at 12:30,taht's incredible for us, so under these difficult circumstances you captured a perfect composition.
Congrats and have a nice weekend,
