Photographer's Note
A man and a work of art
Today I return to the city of Deventer in the Dutch province of Overijssel, that I visited two weeks ago.
The picture is taken in the city centre. The street you can see here is called Grote Kerkhof and is located between de Lebuοnuskerk (at the right) and the city hall (at the left).
I couldn't find any information about the piece of art you can see in the middle, I can only tell you that I found it at the corner of Grote Kerkhof and Grote Poot and that I also found this man in front of it, just when he took a picture of it.
For the contrast with the artwork and didn't change anything of the white sky.

I really like that piece of art and as you say, it contrasts nicely against the white sky ... a blue sky wouldn't have had the same effect. I like also its surroundings. You have presented us with beautiful buildings, all perfectly in focus with good depth. I wonder who the photographer could be? ;-)

trθs belle sculpture qui fait bien d'κtre ΰ la vue de tout le monde et pas forcιment dans un musιe. Cela change un peu de nos rues un peu ternes. Joli POV, j'aime bien la tκte de ce monsieur qui est alignιe ΰ la tκte de la sculpture. Beau cadrage

Hi Lars, I like the scene of catching the catcher. Before reading your notes, I have a guess of who the photographer is already. Thanks for your notes to approval of my guess is true. A nice PoV to show the clear contrast of the art piece against the bright sky. A well composed picture to have a good view of the street as well. A nice shot.

I really interesting capture with lots of wonderful details. I like the carefull composition with the street sculpture well positioned against the white sky. The perspective of the street is nice, with the church at right and the wonderful faηades at left. I also like the way you captured your father in foreground, shooting the interesting statue. Very well done!

Very interesting street sculpture with your POV placing it against the sky for full effect. Nicely framed by the buildings.

Hi Lars - with all respect for Rob, I think he took the better picture because he's not in it :-), anyway very intereswting sculpture, and the town has charming architecture, I had never heard of Deventer before.

An interesting display of artwork in the city centre. I like your POV and how you included our intrepid friend in the foreground. As Mark has stated, a blue sky might have enhanced the street, but the white sky contrasts better with the sculpture. A very fine capture, Lars.

Good framing of the sculture with the side of the old church on the right and a good depth of field with the place and street in the background. The sculture is more interesting than I thought at first sight, with the little heads on top of the cut face.
