On top of de Fietsenflat
Today it was the first time I've been inside de Fietsenflat (Bicycle Flat), that I already showed you in some other pictures. It was actually also the first time I parked my bike there, cause normally I'm never in Amsterdam with my bike, but today I was.
In April 2001 de Fietsenflat was built, that has space for 2,500 bikes. On the whole square there's space for 6,000 bikes, but there are many more, cause everywhere on the square bikes are parked.

I hope you like this picture of de Fietsenflat from a different angle!
PS - After this 5th picture of de Fietsenflat, I created a theme around this building.

I know Amsterdam but I didn't know about the Fietsenflat, actually.
Thanks for pointing me at it, and oh, yes, nice picture!

Oh, the Dutch and their bicycles! This is a really great capture and I love the POV. A question for you...how do you ever find your bike amongst the crowd of 6,000? I couldn't tell from the photo if the spots were numbered.

Bonsoir Lars,
C'est une vιritable leηon de civisme prιsentιe ici !
Je me pose plusieurs questions :
a) - La pollution est-elle moindre ;
b) - le vol de bicyclettes est-il important ;
c) - le stationnement des bicyclettes est-il payant ;
Trθs bon cadrage.
Amitiιs.

Hi Lars, I just love any and all shots from this place. While this shot shows depth better than the other ones I think the others showed its size better. I wonder how long those bikes would stay there if it was New York City?? Great shot Lars!

Hej igen,

Hi Lars,
Another interesting shot of this place from a different angle which very effectively shows the great number of bikes. I like the very systematic parking creating an orderly pleasing view. Very well done!! All the best.

Goedemiddag Lars,
Mooi werk hier!
John.

Hi Lars, This is a good top down view of the bike parking lot. A good perspective view. It looks that all bikes are in a good order and there is no empty slot available. It must be a busy place here.
A nice and clear picture with depth, sharpness, and nice contrast.

Hej Lars
Mycket bra gjort.
Hδlsningar

Hi Lars. Wow, this is amazing to see so many bikes parked here on the flat. Very nice detail and the trees are an added bonus for me. The colours are very sharp. They add contrast. Thanks...

A very impressive and unusual view, Lars! We have this also in my country, but the bycicles are replaced with cars...
Very nice perspective, good colours and photo!

Hello Lars
YEs I do like this angle of the bike park better than the previous ones as it gives a very good POV of the whole immensity of the bikes number of bikes over there ... thanks for posting it over here .... I am really impressed by all the bikes
I just have two questions for you though ...
1. how are the in line skates percieved in Amsterdam? are they popular
2. how safe is to ride the bikes? ... do you have nice bike trails along the rivers and canals that kind of stuff ... or do you just have bike lanes along the roads
just a brief anwer would be sufficient ... it is just that I am really impressed by your photos man
cheers ... sarju

Frankly, I am very astonished by these cyclesparks. If the French adopt the bicycle as means loccomotion the air pollution would fall of 50%. But it is an unrealizable dream.

That's really amazing. I can't get over how many are there. I mean how do you find your bike?! I would have the hardest time remembering where I locked it. :) I like the little two lane road too adding to the seriousness of riding bikes. Your point of view captures the long perspective of all these bikes well as well as the return as it rises up to your level and continues in the foreground with the railing.

Hi Lars,
Another time your bicycles' photo are impressive. Nice point of view for this one. As we can see this was not built for nothing, seems to be very useful, no places left!!

Hej Lars,
This is the one that pleases more me in this theme. I guess the perspective with the red ground attracts me and I like this detail in foreground, giving a marvellous dephness to the image. I've never been inside this park, but the outside view is really impressive. I wonder about a shot taken from above...Good work on this. The repetition of these bikes can give really wonderful results.

Hello Lars,
I taken a short stroll through your gallery, found many attractive a beautiful photos, but this one had caught my sight right away: I remember seeing this place in my last visit in Amsterdam on 2/2002, and was intrigued by the initiative by the city municipal's for giving good solution for a knwon problem in Holland.
Every tourist who come to the city firts see this and it is an overwhelming sight. Your photo does show beautiful view of the Damrak across.
My best regards,
Ike

lars
impressive this parking of bikes, probably we can see more bikes in this photo than in my whole town. haha
watching these bikes I remember my visit in ouro preto a colonial town of my country, it is extremely hilly, a big slope and I found a bike there and I imagined the effort of the owner. haha.
nice perspective with the diagonals.
take care
