And as promised by the weathermen, we woke up this morning to a blanket of snow and -5 in the South Holland. My morning walk was brisk to say the least.

Goedemiddag Elaine,
Dit zelfde beeld was deze morgen ook in Vlaanderen, maar iets minder vorst tot -3°C.
Wanneer het sneeuwt moet steeds klaar staan met de camera want zoveel sneeuwdagen zij er niet meer in onze laaglanden
Heel mooi winter beeld met water en contrast door de bomen.

Hello Elaine,
Winter in its usual almost monochrome style. The fresh snow looks nice and clean. I wonder how long it will last. And how long will it take to make the river ready for skating? The figure walking ahead of you makes me curious. Is it a person bent forward, wearing a dark coat, or a lonely horse covered with a dark blanket? ;-)

Hello Elaine,
For the first day, snow is lovely, especially for photographers and then we yearn for the sun!
I like this: no people, no tracks, just the winter trees, the reflective water and the virginal dressing of snow.

Hello Elaine, I like the almost monochrome effect that the snow has created.
A good composition, we have the choice of looking towards the canal and the lovely reflections, or look to the right and view the dog ambling your way.

It's bitterly cold for forest walk but you're really making the most of your snow opportunities. The stark fig provides a smooth lead, adding a focal point to the composition. I think slight under expose will still work fine.
