Photographer's Note
Another image from our stay last week in the Friesland. The area Kale Duinen, (Bare Dunes) is a so called piece of bare, drifting sand. No sea to be seen, yet dunes. The drifting sands were created by overgrazing of the poor soil where wind and weather have always had free rein, hence the name. Luckily they are not so bare now with vegetation growing back.

Goedenavond Elaine,
Hier is blijkbaar een wandeling nog de moeite, midden van de natuur
In het duingebied waar diverse paadjes liggen, en tevens wat begroeiing laten zien, samen met precies dennen soorten van bomen.
Nu nog kaal maar over drie maand volop groen.
Goed foto werk, bedankt.

hello Elaine, other beautiful dunes. When I think about the dunes, I see in my mind the sands. Here they are covered by vegetation, maybe heather and small bushes. Lovely composition.
